La liste comprend plusieurs groupes qui ont marqué le genre comme Sum 41, Blink-182 et Green Day, mais également des artistes qui ont tracé la voie pour le genre tels que The Descendents, Misfits, The Ramones, Pennywise et Rancid.
La liste du Rolling Stone comprend aussi le premier disque de Simple Plan, No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls au 33e rang.
