Halsey vient de dévoiler la couverture de son prochain album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, qui sortira au moins d’août prochain. Elle a voulu briser les tabous face aux “joies et aux horreurs” d’être enceinte en montrant l’un de ses seins nus.
Ce nouveau disque de Halsey, son 4e en carrière, doit officiellement sortir le 27 août 2021. Il a été produit par Trent Reznor et Atticus Ross de Nine Inch Nails. Le mélange entre les univers de NIN et Halsey risque d’être assez intéressant et nouveau pour une artiste pop de son ampleur.
Cette qui devait être la tête d’affiche sur les plaines au Festival d’été de Québec le 10 juillet 2020 a aussi fait paraître une vidéo de 13 minutes avec la pochette. C’est à voir plus bas dans l’article.
Halsey, qui attend présentement enceinte de son premier enfant avec Alev Aydin, pose également avec un bébé sur ses genoux sur la pochette.

This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months. The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Whore. The idea that me as a sexual being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully. My body has belonged to the world in many different ways the past few years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a life force for my human being.
This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired. We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!
